HAPPY BIRTHDAY

We have a new challenge beginning today at Crafting When We Can.  Our challenge is "Clean and Simple".  Our sponsor this time is Doodle by Creastamps.

The image I have been given is called Evath.  She just looks so sweet and innocent.  I do not often do CAS cards.  I do like a bit of layering and embellishing.  I had to turn to a sketch yet again.  I also thought she could use an earring so I added a pink gem.

Please pop over to CWWC and check out the other fabulous creations and don't forget to join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

CELEBRATE EVERY DAY

I am showcasing a stamp from Great Impressions today.  This is called New Day (E770).  I picked this paper to go with this sentiment because it just looked like they were celebrating their day.  I remember doing things like this when I was young.

The blue paper atop the children is actually part of the paper.  It was so far separated but I thought it should still be there so I cut it out and put it on the top.  I then stamped the sentiment straight onto the paper in black ink.  This is probably the most simple card I have ever done and I just love how it turned out.

Don't forget we have a challenge going on over at Great Impressions.  Our challenge this month is "April Showers Bring May Flowers".  We would love to have you join us!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

TODAY IS YOUR DAY...

HAPPY EASTER!

Today we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is everything to me and I love Him so very much.  I want to share with you that He lives and loves us all...no matter who.  I hope that you will join me in celebrating Him.

Along with today being the most important day for Christians, we are also starting a new challenge at Crafting When We Can.  Our challenge is "One for the Girls".  Our sponsor is a new one for us, Doddle DigiStamps.

I was given this lovely image called "Relax Yoga Girl".  I'm not much of a yoga girl at all.  I have no idea how they can do this.  My body just won't bend that way.  I colored her with my Copics but I wanted to give her a nice pattern on the clothes so I did some paper piecing.

Sometimes I get stuck on what to do and when it comes down to the last minute I look for sketches.  Luckily, I found this wonderful sketch.  It was perfect for the image.  Then I picked out all my paper to go with the colors for the Simon Says challenge.  It really helps to find great challenges that will help your creativity along when it gets stuck in the mud.

Please pop over to the CWWC blog and check out the wonderful DT creations.  I do hope you will join in the challenge.  You have two weeks to enter.

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

CHRISTMAS IN APRIL?

Finally we are getting real Spring!  Here in Ohio we can have all four seasons in one week.  Last week we had snow on Friday and 70 degree weather two days later.   And then here I go with a Christmas card.

I am here with a reminder about the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog for this month.  Our challenge is "Girlz Rule".  We have the following sponsors

Prize: $7 gift certificate

Prize: $10 gift certificate

Prize: $25 gift certificate

My impression of Girlz Rule would be flowers, so I chose to use a stamp from Heartfelt Creations.  This stamp is Large Sparkling Poinsettia.  It has a corresponding die but I don't have that yet.  I stamped the image twice with Versamark and used some gold embossing powder.  I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.

I used some techniques I learned from a Heartfelt class I took to shape the petals and leaves then painted them with Glossy Accents.  I used a paintbrush because if you put the Glossy Accents directly onto the petals they will flatten out.  Finally, after they were all dry I put the flower together.

When deciding on the card to make my thoughts went to just white.  So I made the card completely white with a pop of gold.  I embossed with some snowflakes then popped that layer up on the base card.  I stamped the sentiment on white and lined it with gold (my sister's idea) and popped it up.

I do hope to see you in the challenge and please stop by the LTSCB to check out all the other DT creations.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

LET'S DANCE!

Aren't these ladies just adorable!  I'm sharing a card today featuring Vera and Mable Doing the Charleston (J122) from Great Impressions.   I saw this and thought of my sister and I.  Both of us have bad backs so this probably would never happen but you never know.

I have colored them with Copic markers then added some Stickles and Liquid Pearls.  I also thought since they are supposed to be "old ladies" I would use an embossing folder with quilting on it and add some ribbon.  I wanted the background to be sheet music but none of the music I found seemed right.  Then I thought why not see if I could find the sheet music for the Charleston.  I found it!  So the music behind them is the music they are dancing to.  The notes are metal that I dipped into black paint.  Finally, I have added the sentiment Dance (E857).

I hope you enjoyed this and don't forget to join in the April Challenge of "April Showers Bring May Flowers".  Hope to see you there!

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

RAINY GET WELL

This is my 2nd post today.  If you are looking for the CWWC post please scroll down.

Today's card starts the April challenge at Great Impressions.  Our challenge is

Image may contain: flower, text and nature

I am using Rainy Day Harry (F605)...isn't he adorable!  I have colored him with Copic markers and added Glastique to give the outfit and umbrella a realistic look.  I fussy cut him out and stamped him again on the background so I could keep the raindrops.  They were too hard to fussy cut.   For the background I used Whimsical Clouds (G426).   I stamped this several times  on the paper and then used it for each of the other stamps.  I have paired these with Under the Weather (E866).

Remember this challenge goes for one month.  You can enter with any stamps but we love to see Great Impression Stamps so let us know if your using one to get an extra entry.  Here is the prize you could win.

LITTLE LAMB

Last Sunday we had a new addition to our family.  This is Logan Kade.

He is just so adorable!!  He was a bit early and had to stay in NICU for a bit but was able to come home on Friday.  His three year old big sister is just loving him too.

So this lovely little boy is why I have had baby on the brain for so long.  He is finally here and this may be my last new baby card for a bit.  I was going to make one girl and one boy but I messed up on one of them so only the boy lamb survived.

I have made this card for the new challenge starting today at Crafting When We Can.  Our challenge is "Animal as Main Character".  We are sponsored by our very own Poppet!

This little lamb is from Limited Runs.  I have colored him with Copics and added some Liquid Applique to add a bit of wool to him.  I wanted to leave as much of the DP as possible so I did a bit of a CAS look.
I had this sentiment for a while from Create with TLC.  Glad I finally got to use it.

Now pop on over to the CWWC blog and see what all the DT have created to inspire you.  Hope to see you in the challenge!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

A BIRTHDAY WISH FROM OLAF

Today I am excited to tell you I am a Guest Designer for The Paper Girls Challenge.  The challenge is "Kid Birthday".

This was perfect for me because I have a sweet little girl that has asked me to make her a birthday card.  Jacintasia is my friend's child.  She has recently turned eight.  She asked me to make her a pop up card with Olaf on it.  Last year she wanted Elsa.  She is still loving Frozen.

She loves glitter so I have outlined all the embossing with Stickles.  The image is fussy cut and then popped up with foam squares.  I found this cute tag and used it for her pop up part.  It was perfect to stamp Happy Birthday on.

I hope she enjoys her card!  Please stop by The Paper Girls and check out all the other wonderful creations from the DT.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

EARTH FAIRY

Another two weeks have passed and we have another challenge for you at Crafting When We Can.  The challenge is "Circles".  We are being sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy.

Fabrika Fantasy

The image I am using is called "Earth Fairy".  This comes colored or not.  First I colored her with my Copic markers and then die cut the image.  Unfortunately, I forgot the challenge was circles and I used a rectangle.  So I printed out the colored one and changed the colors on some of it then added Stickles and Glastique.  Normally I don't use the colored images but I was lacking in time.

For my circles I used a scalloped die and circle flowers.  I wanted to go mostly green (it's my fave color) because she is called Earth Fairy.  The earth is mostly green (except for the water) so I thought she should be green.

I hope you will check out all the other DT projects at CWWC and then join us in the challenge.

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

Please stop by the LTSCB and check out the other inspiration by the DT.  Hope to see you in the challenge this month.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXI

Every afternoon I am a nanny for two adorable kids.  They are 9-year old twins.  One girl and one boy.  I did the boys card last month and now I'm back with the girls card.

Lexi just loves cats!  Her preference is the cheetah.  I didn't have a cheetah stamp but since she is also a hip hop dancer I decided to go with a dancing cat.  For this one I stamped this twice and did a mask so that I could do a bit of distressing around the cat.

Thanks for visiting me and have a blessed day!

CRAFT BARN CANDY

This is my third post today so if you're looking for the Great Impressions post or the Crafting When We Can post just scroll down.
I'm here to let you know about some candy going on at The Craft Barn.
Aren't these colors gorgeous!  You have until the 19th to enter but secretly I'm hoping to win myself.  Shh...don't tell anyone.

HAPPY EASTER

Good morning and Happy Sunday!  Today starts the monthly challenge at Great Impressions.  The challenge this month is Spring/Easter.

Image may contain: flower and text

And this is the prize you could win

Image may contain: text

Aren't those bunnies just adorable!

For my card I picked Easter Lily (G452) paired with Wishing You a Happy Easter (B245) from the Great Impressions store.  I love flowers and lilies are my favorites!  They can come in so many different colors.

I decided to go with pink.  I didn't have any flowers that would go with this so off to the local craft store.  These flowers actually come from the floral area.  They come in big bunches that you would put in a vase.  I cut some off the bunch and glued them on.  A much less expensive way to get them on your card when you don't have a variety to chose from in the paper craft area.

I really hope to see you in the Great Impressions March Challenge.  I do love to see all the creativity everyone has.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

I WUV YOU MOMMY

Good morning everyone!  I hope you have had a beautiful weekend!

Today I have a card for you created for the new Crafting When We Can challenge starting today.  Our challenge for you is to used some "Mixed Media".  We are being sponsored by Oddball Art.

So for me when I hear mixed media I immediately think of using ColorBurst from Ken Oliver.  So I pulled out my powders and got to work.  To Create this background I used four different colors (all listed below) and watercolor paper.  I used one color at a time and dried it before going on to the next to try and eliminate it being just one big blob.

After I was done with the colors I added a shimmer spray from Melissa Frances.  The shine is not showing real well above so here is another look.

This was taped down to the craft mat so as not to curl too much.  That's why the white edges.

After I had my background prepared I started to work on this adorable little boy called "Bedtime Hudson".  I didn't want him to cover too much of the background so I chose a very simple backing for him.  This is actually some yellow card stock.  I used some Distress Ink from Tim Holtz to get it to the color I wanted.

All that was left now was to give him a sentiment.  I searched through everything I had to try and figure out what he was saying and came up with nothing.  I even sent a photo to my sister and asked her.  Apparently I sent it too late in the evening because she said he is saying "Why is Roberta waking you up Becky?".  Hilarious isn't she!

I finally thought about my kids at that age and at bedtime.  The last thing always said to my children and back to me is "I love you".  Only at that age it comes out with a "W" sound so that's what I picked.

I hope you have enjoyed my journey into "Mixed Media" this week.  Please pop over to the CWWC challenge blog and check out all the other creations made to inspire you.  Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day.
