Here we are again with another challenge at Crafting When We Can!  Our challenge is to use a die cut. We are being sponsored by Melonheadz.

Nikki from Melonheadz has kindly given me a bunch of lovely flowers.  This set is called "Floral Clip Art".  There are many flowers in this set.  I have used here only a couple of them.  My mom was a huge fan of pansies so I wanted to use them on the card.  The lily is my favorite.  I especially am partial to the Asian lily.  I love all the different colors and how they blend together.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and don't forget to check out all the DT inspiration at CWWC.  Please join us in the challenge this fortnight!

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

Hello all!  I have a new card created for the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  Our challenge this time is everyone's favorite again..."Anything Goes".  I hope to see you all join in on this.

Our sponsors this fortnight are

Prize: Stamp set and 6x6 pad of choice

Prize: $25 gift certificate

Prize: 2 images of choice

One of my favorite places is Heartfelt Creations.  My sister and I take classes from them when we go to the Mega Meet in Michigan.  I just love there products and am working on my collection.

I was given this beautiful digi from Julia Spiri called "The Butterfly Hat".  This is appropriately named as there are so many butterflies.  Julia Spiri has many gorgeous hat ladies and such pretty digis.   I decided to use her for my sister-in-law's birthday card.

As I was scanning challenges looking to see if there was a sketch out there to use with what I had colored, I ran across one that I liked.  Boy was I sad to see that it would end before this post goes live.  I think this is the second time I have done this.  I need to check dates better.  I showed the sketch below as I thought this was perfect for this image.

This week one of my church sister's daughter Glynn was in a horrible car crash with her husband.  Her husband is stable after many surgeries but Glynn is not.  She is currently in a coma on life support.  Please pray for her and this family.  Prayer is a very powerful thing.  I hope you will join me in praying for them.

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today.  Please stop by LTSCB and check out all the wonderful inspiration the DT have made for you.

Have a blessed day!

Welcome to another fabulous challenge at Crafting When We Can.  Our challenge for this fortnight will be "Wings".  We are being sponsored by Sami Stamps.

Another two weeks have gone by.  It seems like this year just began and now we are in August!  Can you believe it?  By the time this goes live my daughter will be home from college...WOOHOO!!!!  I miss her so very much.  She won't be home long so I intend to enjoy every minute.

The image I was given is called "Wild Flower Beauty".   This was a bit difficult for me.  I have gone outside the comfort zone.  I was unable to do a fussy cut on this.  I had to make sure to stay in the lines and then do some highlighting around her.  Some of the lines were just too small to cut out but the image is so pretty I wanted to give it a try.

After I colored her and sparkled her up a bit I wanted to frame her.  I purchased this die at the Mega Meet in Michigan.  I thought it would frame her beautifully.  I used some distress ink around it for that old frame look.

The die cut under the flowers is from the Mega Meet too.  It was a free with purchase at Our Daily Bread.  I tried to find a link to it but couldn't.  It may be discontinued.  The dragonfly is chipboard from Sweet Stamps.  I  couldn't find the link to it either but I'm sure they still carry it.  I really love this store and they make so many beautiful items.  The enamel embossing powders are amazing and if you use their enamel powder adhesive on your regular embossing powders they come out fabulous too.

I hope you have been inspired by my card.  Now put on your crafting tiara and join us in the challenge at CWWC and don't forget to check out all the amazing creations by the DT.

Thanks for visiting me and have a blessed day!

There is a new challenge starting at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog today.  Our challenge is "Two of a Kind".  Our fabulous sponsors are

Prize: $10 gift certificate

Prize: 3 images to winner

Prize: 3 single digital images

My image comes from SLS Lines.  It's called "Flowers Hibiscus".   Originally I had decided to use two flowers on one card.  Apparently I made them a bit too big to get onto one card.  So in keeping with the two of a kind theme, I made two cards.  They are not identical but so similar I think it works.

I colored the image four times.  Two were used as a base and two to pop up the flowers to give them more depth.  I also painted them with Glossy Accents to make them stronger.  They would not be complete without some glitter.  I used my Stickles for that.

I hope you can join us in the challenge and don't forget to pop over to the LTSCB and check out all the other marvelous creations made to inspire you.

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

Welcome to another fabulous challenge at Crafting When We Can.  Our challenge is "Squares".  We are being sponsored by Devil Cait Designs.

The image I was given is called Daisy.  When I looked at her I saw a lady back in the 1920's with all the extra make up and bling.  I hope I was able to portray as such.

The DP and the embellishment are some new stash from the Mega Meet in Michigan.  The package from Authentique was a flash sale.  So cheap it was almost a steal.  I really loved the Mon Ami Gabby stop too.  I didn't have funds allocated to this but I had to have it along with some beautiful butterflies that I haven't been able to use them yet.  I'm going to horde them for a bit.

I hope you take a moment to check out all the wonderful creations at CWWC and please join us in the challenge.

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

We have a new challenge starting at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog.  Get ready.  It's everyone's favorite "Anything Goes"!!  WooHoo!!  Get your crafting tiara ready and join us.

The sponsor I have for this round is

Prize: 3 images of choice

There are two other sponsors this week also.  Please go to LTSCB to see what you can win.

I was given this adorable owl from Oddball Art.  I think it's so cute.  After coloring the owl I used my stylist to give it some dimension then painted it with Glossy Accents.  By painting it on instead of just dropping it from the bottle it keeps the dimensions I added.   I cut the sentiment out five times and glued them together also for dimension.  I added the Glossy Accents to this also.

I have had this wood paper for ages.  Finally I have a way to use it.  It comes solid with embossing.  I sanded over the embossing to reveal the inside color.  I've used other paper from the pack but have never used the wood grain.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit.  Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to hop over to LTSCB and check out all the fabulous inspiration the DT have for you.

Have a blessed day!

Today begins a new challenge at Crafting When We Can.  Our challenge this fortnight is "Based on a Film".  We are being sponsored by Oddball Art.

This adorable little girl is called "Geeky Big Eye Pastel Goth Unicorn Girl w/Glasses N Unicorn Kitten Happy".   What a mouthful right!  She's a cutie though.  She comes with happy and sad faces too.  I thought she was just adorable as I do love a unicorn.

As I was starting my card I couldn't think of a movie to use.  For some reason I couldn't get any inspiration.  She was colored for two weeks before my daughter gave me the inspiration I needed.  Her favorite movie of all time is Stardust.

I could not remember a unicorn though.  She told me in the beginning, when the star is shot through the air, the unicorn carries her safely to earth.

I looked at the pictures for the movie and found so many gorgeous sky scenes.  I was going to print one and decided to just make one instead.  I started with my Color Bursts.  I used Lemon Yellow, Alizarin Crimson and Ultramarine Blue.  The photo I took of how little powder was needed came out a bit blurry so I'm going to start with the burst.

While it was drying, I used my stitched rectangle die on the papers to go behind my image.

There was a very important flower in the movie.  It's called a snowdrop flower.  The bearer of this flower is protected from all dark magic and it also brings him good luck.  I looked up the flower and had none like it.  So I decided to use what I have.  I started by making some foliage die cuts and distressed them up a bit.

Next I pulled out some white flowers and distressed them.

I made a bow and put them all together.

This is the what I came up with.

I wasn't real happy with there not being some more red to tie into the background so I distressed a bit with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

I added the girl and her kitten then I couldn't figure out what she was going to say.  My lovely daughter came up with that also.  She said that when you are someone's unicorn you befriend, protect, inspire, comfort and be there when needed.  I thought that was just so sweet.  Not sure if it came from the movie or not but I like it.

After I was finished (or thought I was) I felt the upper right corner was just not right.  It was too empty and the card didn't balance.  I wanted to add something and thought stars would be the best addition.

So here again is the finished card.  I'm glad you stopped by and hope that I will see you in the challenge at CWWC!

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

Today I have another thank you card for my friend.  This one is a bit on the CAS side.  I made this one blue without a cute image or flowers so that it could be used for a guy.

I had some trouble inking up the sentiment.  The ink just would not sit solid on the stamp.  I ended up using my Copic markers to color it in.

I also embossed the inside and distressed it since she wanted paws on her cards.  (The first one I made for her you can see here.)

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Recently I was asked to make some thank you cards with paw prints.  A friend of mine trains helper dogs for the disabled.  I hope she likes what I have done.  This is the first one.  I have had this image for a very long time and I have never used it.  I thought for a thank you it was adorable.

I embossed the card with paw prints and used some distress ink on them.  Then I thought that I should do it on the inside also.  Of course I only used it on one side and distressed it as well.

I'm about to send her a pick so cross my fingers she likes it!

Thanks so much for your visit and have a blessed day!

There is a brand new challenge starting at the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog.  Our challenge is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (use at least one star).  We again have three wonderful sponsors.

Prize: $10 gift certificate

Prize: 2 images of choice

Prize: $10 gift certificate

I was given this little cutie called "Happy Birthday Jessica" from Little Blue Button Stamps.  I knew I wanted to make a birthday card so it was just obvious to pick this image.  But how to incorporate stars?

So I decided I would do my own background and emboss it.  I've got a little tutorial on how this was created.

My first step was to choose a color.  I chose Lemon Yellow from Color Burst.

I sprinkled a little around the paper.

Next you spritz with water and watch the colors burst out.

After I had my yellow, I wanted some green.  I pulled out Terre Verte.

Look at the beautiful bursts of color.

After this dried I embossed it with stars.

Next I picked out the color to go directly behind my image and cut it out with my new favorite die from Gina Marie Designs.

I added some embossing to this also.

Every birthday girl needs some ribbon.  This I just received in the mail from DL Art.  I won it!  Yea!!

I created the bow and added a button for the center with some twine tied through it.

So this is the finished design.  I placed this on the card base with black paper in between to pop it out.

Next some pop dots for the image and the sentiment.

The sentiment here is cut out to follow the letter's ups and downs.  I didn't want it to cover up too much of the background.

Again the finished card.  I like how bright and cheery this looks.  Not sure who is getting it yet.  Maybe my niece who is turning 12 soon.  I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial and don't forget to stop by the LTSCB and check out all the wonderful creations from the design team.

Thanks for visiting me and have a blessed day.
