Merry Christmas in April

Merry Christmas in April.  I just won this gorgeous image over at Sassy Studio Designs.  Isn't she just beautiful!  Her name is Elizabeth.  She is from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.  I've been doing this post while watching Dancing With The Stars.  I think Elizabeth is totally dressed for tonight's classical waltz dances.  This was one of my mom's favorite shows.  She's gone now but I like to think she still watches it with me.

To color her I used Whisper Strokes Markers and some Stickles from Ranger.  The Stickles just didn't come out like I would have liked to see though.  The papers are from The Paper Co., Bazzill, Martha Stewart and from my Stash 'O' Scraps.  I distressed with Tim Holtz distress Ink Peeled Paint.  The sentiment was my own.  The design is the sketch for this week at Techno Stamper.

ELIZABETH IS GETTING MARRIED

My niece is getting married!  Elizabeth is one of my sister Rhonda's daughters.  She is getting married to a pretty great guy.  Since they live so far away I don't get to see her very often at all.  I'm looking forward to going to her wedding.  My daughter Alicia is her Maid of Honor.  She is so excited to be in the wedding and she looks absolutely awesome in her dress.  They are having her bridal shower today and I couldn't go.  There was no one to take care of my little doggies.  Thankfully we have found someone to take them for the wedding.

This beautiful bride comes from Sassy Studio Designs.  There challenge this week for Dare To Be Sassy Thursday was a sketch.  Sketches are my new favorite thing to do.  I just love them.  I colored this beauty with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' up markers, Stickles by Ranger and two white paint pens.  The papers are from Bazzill, The Paper Co., DCWV La Cre`me Stack and my box 'o scraps.  The brads are from Stampin' Up.  The corner punch is an EK Success punch.

I have entered into the following challenges:

Dream Valley #29 - Wedding/Love
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #134 - Something celebratory
Splendiferous Creations - Black, white/vanilla and a splash of one other color
Card Makin Mamas - Make it girlie

I really hope she likes her card.  I hope you like it too.  Thanks for stopping by.

WITH SYMPATHY

Last week a friend of mine lost her father.  Even though she knows he has gone to be with his Heavenly Father it is still hard for the ones left here on earth.  Last year I lost my mother and it is still very painful.  I miss her every day.  I know that my friend is going through what I went through and my prayers are with her and her family.  She serves with me in our Young Women's group at church.  We thought it would be nice to have a card from all the girls we work with at church.  I hope it gives her some comfort.

This image comes from Marjie's Malarkies.  I colored it with Wonder Strokes markers and a touch of Stickles by Ranger.  The papers are from Bazzill, The Paper Co. and my stash 'o' scraps.  I had a sketch in mind but the flowers were just too large.

I have entered this into the following:

Party Time Tuesday - Spotlight on flowers
My Time To Craft #176 - Easel Cards
Willow Sketchie - Sketch or lots of layers
Inspire Me Fridays #53 - Anything goes
Wags 'n Whiskers #76 - Say it with flowers
Catch the Bug - Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by!

HOPPY EASTER

It's one of my favorite times of year.  The celebration of Easter is such a wonderful time to remember our Savior and what He has done for us.  Though the bunny does not depict an image of Jesus, it does help the world to get reminded of the sacrifices that were made so that we could one day go back to Heaven.

I love this happy image.  The bunny and the eggs come from one of my new favorite companies, Doodle Pantry.  I colored them with Whisper Strokes Markers, Stampin' Up markers, Uni-ball paint pen and some liquid applique`.  I also added some Stickles by Ranger then popped them up on 3D Foam Tape.  The sentiment and two of the design papers are from Doodle Pantry as well.  The other papers come from Bazzill and my box 'o' scraps and the ribbon is from Darice. The design of this comes from Creatalicious.  I like sketches.  They help so much in making lots of different looking cards.

I am entering into the following challenges:

Doodle Pantry #22 - Use a Doodle Pantry image not just a sentiment
Paper Sundaes #114 - Happy Easter
Just Add Ink #111 - Just Add Easter

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and thanks for stopping by!
