SASSY USA

There's a new challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs.  They are having a release of different countries in honor of the Olympics.  The challenge is to create a card of your favorite country.  Since I can't imagine any other country better than the one I live in, I chose the USA.  I feel so blessed to be living in America.  Where else can you live that has all the freedom we have here?

This lovely girl is 4th of July Honey.  I colored her with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers and a white gel pen.  I added some Stickles by Ranger to give her some sparkle.  The background picture is something I pulled off the Internet.  The papers come from The Paper Co. and my Stash 'O Scraps.  The ribbons are Offray and Darice.  The sentiment comes from Create with TLC and I distressed it with Tim Holtz distressing ink.  Finally the pearls are from Queen & Co.

I am entering into the following challenges:

Sassy Studio Designs -  Card based on your favorite country
Raise the Bar #108 - Red, white & blue
Allsort #164 - Distressing
Scrappy Frogs - Red, white & blue

Crafting When We Can Challenge #23

Welcome to another CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN challenge.  This week we are sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs.

Fresh Brewed Designs

These images just all say fun.  We are using them with the theme "Monochrome".  As you can see I have chosen green.  It's my favorite color.  All shades are fabulous to me.  I really love that there are so many shades of green.  I've often thought it must be God's favorite color too because there are so many things that are green in nature.

I have colored my image with Whisper Strokes, Stampin' Up and Copic markers.  I think this is the first card I didn't sparkle up.  The sketch is from Simon Says Stamp and Show.

All the papers come from my Stash 'O Scraps.  I think some were Bazzill but I'm not sure.  I just pulled out all of the green I had and picked from them.  The sentiment comes from Create with TLC. Finally the flower is from Prima.

Stop over at Crafting When We Can and see what the rest of the Design Team has done.

I am entering these into these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Sketch
Diva's by Design #44 - Anything goes
Wishcraft #27 - Waste not Wednesday
Simon Says Stamp and Show - No Rules
Digi Doodle #117 - Anything goes
Crafty Catz #142 - Monochromatic

Relaxing In The Tub

Doesn't this look like fun?  A day in a bubble bath.  This looks so relaxing.  There are so many kids in my house I don't think I will be able to do this for a long, long time.

I made this card with a few challenges in mind.  Simon Says is having a sketch challenge and I just love sketches.  Craft Your Passion is use Kraft with ribbon.  Then Pile it on is kick back and relax.  I've been wanting to use this image since I got it but did not have anything to use it for till now.

This image comes from Sassy Studio Designs.  It was a freebie on their Friday Freebie over at Paper Craft Planet.  They have a new freebie every Friday.  I colored her with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers.  Tim Holtz distress ink is added around the image.  I added some Glossy Accents to the water and a bit of Stickles by Ranger to sparkle up a few things.  The sketch is Simon Says.

The papers are from Bazzill, The Paper Co., my Stash 'O Scraps and a bit of generics.  The ribbon is Darice.  Finally the sentiment comes from my daughter.  I chose greens because they are such a relaxing color.

I am entering into the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion #119 - Kraft with lace/ribbon
Pile it on #29 - Kick back and relax
Papertake Weekly - All things girlie
Totally Paper Crafts #125 - Lots of Layers

Cortlynn Is So Special

Hello again!  I have another card to show to you today.  This little cutie comes from Saturated Canary.    She is called Canary Love.  They have a challenge going on - Bling it on.  I saw this image and a couple of things came to mind.  She reminds me of my niece Cortlynn and also Cortlynn is in need of some attention.

My niece was born mentally challenged and sometimes she gets a bit upset when she thinks she isn't receiving as much attention as the other kids in the house.  If you saw from a few cards ago, her sister is having a birthday and so is my daughter so I wanted to do something nice for Cort and she had told me how much she liked the pop up cards that I had made.  I know she would love to get a card in the mail so I thought I would do this for her.

Cortlynn has beautiful red hair and she keeps it up in a ponytail just like this image so I made her a red head.  I colored her with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers.  I added a little Stickles by Ranger and Glossy Accents to sparkle her up.  This design comes from Sketch Saturday.

Aren't sketches just fabulous!

The papers are from Graphic 45 (Kraft), Bazzill, Core' dinations and my Stash 'O Scraps.  The ribbons are Offray and Darice.  I purchased the rainbow ribbon a while back because I thought it was so cute and just haven't had a chance to use it yet.  I liked how it fit with this sketch.  I got the sentiment over at Desert Divas.  The pearls are from Queen & Co.  Finally the floral is from Prima.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Saturated Canary #21 - Bling it on
Craft Your Passion #119 - Kraft paper with lace/ribbon
The Corrosive #153 - Sentimentally yours
Really Reasonable Ribbon #52 - Sizzlin' summer colors and ribbon

I hope you like my card and I hope Cortlynn likes it too.

Lili at the Park

Isn't this image just too cute?  I was a blog hop winner at Inky Impressions recently.  I just love their stuff and was only too thrilled to get this cute little girl named Lili's Ice Cream.  Their challenge this week is "The Great Outdoors".  I thought she would be perfect for it.

I colored her with Whisper Strokes markers then added some Stickles by Ranger and Glossy Accents.  The papers come from Bazzill, The Paper Co., Papercraft (the background scene) and my Stash 'O Scraps.  It seems that no matter how much I use out of it the stash just gets bigger.

For the embellishments I used a lovely butterfly charm from Inky Impressions (which was also in my blog hop prize), a Cheery Lynn brush die cut and tie dye flora from Petaloo.  The flora were colored with Tim Holtz distress inks as is the distressing around Lili.

I am entering into the following challenges:

Inky Impressions - The Great Outdoors

By The Cute and Girly - A Day At The .......(park)

Alicia's 15

My beautiful, brown haired, brown eyed baby is turning 15!  Her name is Alicia and she is absolutely gorgeous!  Everyone tells me so then says she looks nothing like me.  Do I take that as a compliment or not?  Sometimes I'm not real sure.

All too soon she will graduate and be on her way to college.  Three short years.  My how time flies.  She has the most beautiful voice.  She wants to be a singer/actor some day.  What a world she wants to enter.  From my previous post, you will see I have now found an image for her card.  I won this image from Milk Coffee Digi's.  Since I didn't have an image I felt was right for her, I let her pick the image for her card.  This was her choice.  She is called Tiffany Diva.  However, diva is not the right name for Alicia.  She is very sweet most of the time but a diva she is not.

Since she loves to sing I added some music signs to her card.  If you haven't figured it out, her fave color is blue.  On the inside, below, the music sheet for Happy Birthday is placed on the bottom part of the card.  Alicia doesn't think I can sing very well so I'm letting the card sing for me.

I'm really liking the pop up cards.  My sister has a tutorial on how to do these and they are so simple but add so much to a card.  You can see her tutorial here.  While you're there you should look through her blog.  She is fabulously talented.

I have colored Tiffany with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers.  I added Stickles by Ranger to her dress and Glossy Accents to her hair and the flowers.  The sketch is by Charisma Cardz.

The papers come from Bazzill, Core' dinations and my Stash 'O Scraps.  The die cuts are Spellbinders, the punch is Martha Stewart.  These ribbons are Offray and Darice.  The embellishments are also Darice.  Finally the sentiment is from Desert Diva.

These are the challenges I am entering:

Really Reasonable Ribbon #51 - Children's birthday with ribbon
Emerald Fairies #27 - Birthdays
Bearly Mine #42 - Ribbons and bows
Paper Play #27 - Happy birthday
Lia Stampz #20 - Use your scraps
Sassy Cheryl's #122 - Anything goes
Paper Pretties Wednesday - Celebrate any occasion

Hope you like my card and I hope my baby likes it too.

Summer Girl Pop Up

Welcome to another challenge at Crafting When We Can.  We have a recipe for you this fortnight.  In this challenge we want to see: 1 image, 2 ribbons and 3 buttons.  I decided to do a pop up card this time.  This is my first attempt at a pop up.  I made another that has already posted but this one came first.  My lovely and talented sister (see side bar) has done a tutorial for it and I just had to try it out.

I think I did pretty good, don't you?

We are sponsored this week by Spesch Designer Stamps.  This little girl was just so cute I had to pick her.  She is called Summer Girl.

Spesch Designer Stamps

I colored her with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers along with some Stickles by Ranger and a little Glossy Accent.  (This is one of my new favorite things)  The papers are Bazzill, The Paper Co., Core' dinations and Lilac and Lavender Papers.  The floral embossing folder is Darice.  I used Tim Holtz distress ink around the image.  The ribbons come from Darice and Offray.  The punch is Martha Stewart and finally the buttons are Bo Bunny.  I didn't use a sketch.  I couldn't find one that suited my needs this time.

Please stop by the other DT blogs over at Crafting When We Can and see the amazing creations they have made.  I hope you join in on the challenge this fortnight.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Totally PaperCrafts #124 - Here comes summer

Thanks so much for visiting!  See ya soon.

Cara's Turning 8

I was starting to make a birthday card for my daughter who is turning 15 and got stuck with not being able to find the right image.  I saw this and thought of my niece Cara who is turning 8 next month.  Glad to have the card done way ahead of time.  Pink is her fave color so I thought she would like this.

This image is from Saturated Canary.  It's a little baby doll named Ava. The presents are at Cuddly Buddly.  I colored them with Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers then added some Glossy Accents.  The sketch is from Charisma Cardz.

The papers come from Core' dinations, Bazzill and my Stash 'O Scraps.  I added some Stickles by Ranger to the black paper.  The inside sentiment is from Desert Diva.  The border punch is Martha Stewart and the die cut is Spellbinders.  Finally the ribbon on the balloon is from Darice.

The inside is a pop up.  The directions for this can be found on my sister Rebecca's blog. She is amazingly talented.  She is teaching me all this.  Stop by and take a look.  You will definitely agree.
