HAPPY GRADUATION!

It's graduation time and I have another card for one of the graduates at our church.  This one is for Hyrum.  He has finished high school a year early and is headed to Brigham Young University.  After a year he will be headed out on a mission for our church.

He is such a fine young man.  Our basement flooded recently and we had to dig up some pipes.  Hyrum volunteered to do some digging for us.  He came with three other young men and saved us a ton of money not having to hire someone to do that.

 CONGRATULATIONS HYRUM!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day.

Recipe:

Sketch - Just Rite Inspiration
JRSketch124
Sentiment - Create with TLC (I altered to say graduation)
 Embossing folder - Darice
Die cut - Spellbinders
Papers - Core 'dinations, DCWV and Stash O Scraps
Stamp - Lost the package so I'm not sure
Antique Linen Distress Ink - Tim Holtz

HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY ALICIA

I'm making this card for my baby about a month early.  Her birthday isn't until the end of July, but our challenge this time around for Crafting When We Can was just too perfect for her card to not make it.  I even made it a week early which is unheard of for me.  My beautiful baby girl is about to be 17 years old.  I only have a year left before she is off to college and to serve a mission for our church.  I am in tears often.  Hopefully I will be cried out before she has to go.

This picture was take at our church by someone in our Young Women's program.  It was a gift for me.  All the girls got their picture taken and put into a frame.  It sits on my dresser.  Isn't she just so gorgeous!!!

I'm very pleased with how she is turning out and I'm sure she will make a fine adult someday.  I'm just very sad that day is coming so soon.  Her sister went off to college and decided she liked the area and never came home.  I told Alicia she can't do that to me.

I'll now get on to our challenge for this fortnight.

The image I am using is called "Annabelle".   A short time ago Artbymiran had a contest on Facebook to name a new image.  Everyone got three chances.  I let my daughter and my niece pick names.  The name Annabelle was the name Alicia picked for her so I knew the image had to be for her birthday card.  If you haven't figured out yet, I chose option "B" for my card.  Alicia's favorite color is blue so it was a no brainer.

I colored her with my Copics and Whisper Strokes markers.  I added some Glossy Accents and Wink of Stella because she has to shine.  I also used the following:

Flowers - Prima Flowers
Punch & die cut - McGill & Stampin' Up
Papers - Real Magic, Colorbok, stash & generic
Stamp - Stampendous
Bling & pearls - Michaels & Queen & Co.
Embossing folder - Darice

Please head over to our challenge blog and check out all the other amazing projects done by my oh so talented DT sisters and I hope you will join in the challenge.

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN #71

Has another two weeks gone by?  Time just keeps going faster the older I get.  My daughter just finished her Junior year in high school and I just keep thinking only one year left.  My oldest went off to college and decided she liked it there and now lives in North Carolina while I'm in Ohio.  My baby will be going off to college in a year.....she better not decide to stay there.  I may have to just lock her up.

We are here for another challenge at

Our challenge today is "Leftovers" (use up your scraps - nothing new).

We are welcoming back a favorite sponsor of mine

I've been given Disney Fan Sassy to work with.  Isn't she just incredibly cute! I've colored her with my Copic markers and added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.  I just love using these to shine and sparkle my images.  All the papers I used came out of my stash box so I'm not sure what company they are from.  I've also used the following:

Die cut & sentiment from Stampin' Up
Embossing folder - Darice
Ribbon - Sierlint Dekorationband
Pearls - Want 2 Scrap
Flower - no clue
3D Dimensionals
Punch for corners is so old I can't remember where it came from

It's so nice to use up what you have.  I get a feeling of accomplishment when I am able to do this.

I hope you have enjoyed your time here and please pop over to CWWC challenge blog and check out all the great projects the DT have made for your inspiration.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FABULOUS SISTER

Many of you know my sister Rebecca from Sydney's Sentiments.
She is such an amazing and talented person.  She is a wonderful mother to her flock of children too.  She has five parrots at home.  I chose these images because she has blond hair and I have red (I'm the older sister though).  Anyway she can be the queen for one day out of the year....LOL.

Becky is really kind and sweet and has such a big heart.  She is always caring for others (even to the point of ignoring herself).  She even takes care of me a lot.  These images were a gift from her....as are many of the crafting items I have.  If you've read some of my previous posts you will see we went on a trip to Michigan recently.  She paid for the whole thing.  I am unable to work and don't have much money to spare.  She is always doing such wonderful things.

We have two nieces in Kentucky that have children of their own now and Becky has gone out of her way to help care for them since they were babes and now does so many wonderful things for their children.  She was even there (May 25) on her birthday because she wanted to spend time with the new baby.  She helps me with my children also and I don't know what I would do without her.

I wanted to share some of the parts of my sister that she normally doesn't talk about so you will know how great she is.  You can pop over to her blog and tell her happy birthday too.  You will see how talented she is.  I had to wait until today to post because I had not been able to give her the card until now.

The images I used are Queen Elsa Sassy and Coronation Anna Sassy.  They are colored with Copic and Whisper Strokes markers.  I forgot the white streak in Anna's hair though.  I haven't seen the movie enough yet.  I also added some Glossy Accents and Wink of Stella glitter pen for that added sparkle and shine then popped them up on dimensionals.  The papers I used all come from Bazzill, the ribbon is American Crafts, the snowflakes are from Recollections, the die cut is Stampin' Up and the embossing folder comes from Darice.

Thank you for visiting and don't forget to tell Becky Happy Birthday!
