CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN #74

Welcome to another wonderful fortnightly challenge at

We are sponsored by The Stamping Chef

The challenge is to create your own background.  This is not something I am comfortable in doing so this had definitely taken me out of my comfort zone.  Here is what I did.  I started with some plain card stock.

I then stamped my background stamp with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder from American Crafts.   I'm not sure where the stamp is from at all.  I lost the packaging some time ago.  After embossing I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

It was still not where I wanted so I added some distressing around the edges with Stampin' Up Ink.

After finishing the background I started in on the image.  This is called Dolly Birthday. You can never have enough birthday cards.  I colored her with Copic markers and added some Wink of Stella glitter pen to the bows on her and some Glossy Accents to the balloons.  The ribbon is from Offray, the sentiment is a Stampendous stamp & the papers all came from my stash.  The pink tulle is left over from my nieces wedding and I thought it would spark up the image.

I do hope you will stop by and check out all the wonderful inspiration from all the DT at Crafting When We Can.  Hope to see you in this week's challenge.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day.

FRIENDS

Here we are with another fortnightly challenge at

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN

Our challenge this time around is "Friends" and we are being sponsored by

Penny Blossoms

I have been given this cute image to work with called Dare to be Different.  The outfit she is wearing is definitely different than anything I would ever dare to wear, but I really like it.  I colored her with my favorite things.....Copics and Glossy Accents.  I've used it on her hair, skirt and glasses. I don't really see it in the picture, but it does look nice in real life.

Since she is so daring, I decided she needed to have daring hair as well.  I really love the color green and how it goes with pink.  Since green hair was not how I saw her I decided to go with pink hair.

I have a drawer full of ribbons in my craft area.  I opened the drawer and this one was right on top.  It matched her gloves and tights so nicely that I had to add it.

Now get your crafting tiara on and get going.  Join us this week at Crafting When We Can and make something for your friend.   Don't forget to visit all the other DT and see what they have created to inspire you.

Thanks for visiting me and have a blessed day!
